R.I.P. John Schmeidel

As many of you may already have heard, John died this week. Obviously this is terrible news for those of us who knew him, but it is a loss to everyone in the program as well.

Unfortunately, this has happened at a time when Dira is no longer here to help students deal with situations just like this. If  anyone feels that they need someone to talk to, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me.

In the meantime, I am some friends of John will be having a small, informal wake at one of his favourite bars, the Brass Monkey, this Friday at 8. Please feel free to join us in remembering John.
